It is planned to slit seed the Medal greens on Monday 5th September, followed by the Ashludie greens. The whole operation should be complete within 2 days. This was done last year, and has proved to be the most successful way of getting the correct grasses to germinate and grow. It is one of the keys towards smooth putting surfaces.

The slit seeding operation is noticeable visually to golfers after it has been done, but the disruption to the putting surface smoothness is minimal. Every effort will be made to minimise the visual impact, and that should disappear within a few days.
